If you look closely enough, inspiration can be found everywhere. It’s apparent in all of our communities — both large and small.
During these difficult times, all of us at The Leader have been particularly inspired by our nation’s “Last Responders.” These men and women have found the courage to step up when our country needed them the most and continue to do so every day — even though the risks still run high.
One story that particularly stands out is that of Alexandra Petrini, who is a licensed embalmer and the preparation room manager at Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in San Francisco. Petrini prefers staying behind the scenes but is still passionate about the positive impact she can have on families during these especially difficult times. She’s continued to serve as a steadfast and dedicated staff member, even despite the ever-changing circumstances of the pandemic.
“When you do this job, you don’t run when it gets scary. You take an oath to take care of these families. The other girls I work with, we are all on the same page,” she said. “It’s crazy sometimes, but I think we’ve navigated it really well. I’m proud of Cypress. We’ve really come together as a team to do the best that we can.”
Petrini’s courage in the face of adversity has inspired all of us at The Leader to do something special for all of our country’s “Last Responders” who work hard to help families every day. This is the least we can do to show our appreciation for all of you who are working tirelessly through the pandemic.
