PRESS RELEASE
WHEELING, IL — Funeral Professionals Peer Support (FPPS) and the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) welcomes Glenda Stansbury as facilitator of the October peer support meeting. Connect with your peers and chat with Glenda on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT. This virtual meeting means that you can join us from any device, wherever you are!
As a professional educator, Glenda Stansbury is uniquely skilled for facilitating a peer support meeting. She spends her days connecting with people in all stages of their careers, from across the profession, united by a desire to serve their communities well. And this calling is hard, particularly with all we’ve faced for the last 20 months.
“Funeral professionals live their lives to say yes. To be accommodating. To move heaven and earth to meet the needs of every family” Glenda says. “So, the difficulty of having to look at a family and tell them that they cannot have the service that they planned and want is devastating. To be the bearer of the bad news that a grieving family cannot invite friends and family to join together as we always have, to hug, to hold hands, to cry together… It’s hard.”
Glenda Stansbury joins the October conversation to facilitate open discussion on challenges funeral professionals face on the job, and also at home. So, for anyone who works for a funeral home, cemetery, or crematory serving the public or supporting those who do, including students, apprentices, and interns – join us!
For those who encountered confusion and difficulty with the September meeting, CANA sincerely apologizes. We have worked out the kinks and look forward to welcoming you to the regular meeting, with a fresh Zoom link. Join your peers on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT via Zoom link at goCANA.org/peersupport.
