Over the past month, we asked for the help of our readers to share stories about the men and women of our industry who have persevered despite the difficult circumstances of the pandemic.

Throughout this crisis, we have been particularly inspired by all of you — our nation’s funeral, cremation, and cemetery professionals — as you’ve continued to serve families despite all of the risks.

As part of our “Leaders During COVID” contest, we requested all of you to share details about the professionals who have been going above and beyond during this time.

After reviewing our entries, we chose Keysha Licea as our winner. Keysha serves as the office manager and as a funeral arranger at Thomas Miller Mortuary & Crematory in Southern California.

Here’s what Chris Miller, the owner of the firm, had to say about Keysha:

“My office manager Keysha Licea goes above and beyond her call of duty to service families. She will come in on her days off — on weekends and nights — to make sure her families are taken care of to the fullest. She is a true champion in the funeral industry.”

We extend our congratulations to Keysha on this accomplishment and her continued service to families!
