PRESS RELEASE

LUBBOCK, TX — Following a nationwide request for nominations from child bereavement field professionals and an election by the membership of the organization, the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC) announced that its membership and Board of Directors has elected Catherine Alicia Georges and Jim Price as members of the Board of Directors for the National Alliance for Grieving Children. Their term of service began immediately.

Catherine Alicia Georges, EdD, RN, FAAN

Dr. Georges is a professor and chair of the Department of Nursing at Lehman College of the City University of New York, and volunteer President of the National Black Nurses Foundation. She serves on the board of AARP, the Black Women’s Health Study, R.A.I.N. Inc., and the advisory board of the National Clinicians Scholars Program. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the New York Academy of Medicine, and a lifetime member of the National Black Nurses Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Seton Hall University College of Nursing, her M.A. in Nursing from New York University, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Vermont. She resides in Bronx, N.Y.

Jim Price

Jim Price has over 50 years of experience in the funeral profession and is a third-generation funeral director. Jim is Senior Vice-President, Industry Relations for Park Lawn Corporation. Prior to joining Park Lawn, Jim co-founded and served as EVP / COO of Foundation Partners Group and formerly co-founded and served as COO of Keystone Group Holdings. Jim currently serves on the International Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association (ICCFA) Board of Directors, ICCFA Governmental Affairs Committee and is currently President of the ICCFA Educational Foundation. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Sykes School of Business, Center for the Study of Ethics, at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.
