Ever wanted to get a sneak peek into what funeral homes across the country are doing? Now you can, thanks to Funeral Cribs!

The series, published on both Facebook and YouTube, highlights funeral homes across the country whose owners take interesting or innovative approaches to their businesses.

Funeral Cribs is funded and produced by Tukios. Curtis Funk, the founder of Tukios, says the mission of the series is to cast a positive light on funeral homes and the industry in general.

“The idea of making tour videos came from a behavior I’ve recognized in funeral directors. They love to take people on tours of their funeral homes, and they also love touring other facilities (especially in other markets) to see what they are doing differently and how they can improve their own firm,” says Funk on the Funeral Cribs website.

Many of the funeral homes that are featured have unique interior decor or specialized amenities, but the inspirational stories about their owners are the main focus of each episode, which are typically around 10 minutes or less.

The series has gained a large following on both of its platforms. The show’s most-viewed YouTube video, which features Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory in the greater Atlanta area, has been watched more than 69,000 times. The series’ most-watched video on Facebook, which has earned over 40,000 views, features Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan, Ala.

Even if your funeral home is not featured on the show, here are some actions you can take to promote your firm on your own:

Create a virtual tour
Using Google’s Tour Creator, you can take members of your community on a tour of your facility and showcase your unique and beautiful amenities. You can even add the tour to your website so families can view your firm without stepping inside your doors.

Showcase your receptions
Take photos of the setup before hosting a reception. Don’t forget to post these photos on your social media platforms and your website so prospective families know what you have to offer. Many families may not even know your firm offers receptions, so sharing this content is key.

Utilize Facebook Live
Facebook Live provides an easy way to interact with your followers because it allows them to ask you questions in real-time. You can give viewers a brief tour of your facility and even answer FAQs. Pro tip: Test going live on a personal profile first to make sure you understand how it works and to test your Wi-Fi signal.
